The Olympus 27MG is an affordable ultrasonic thickness gauge designed to provide accurate single-sided measurements on internally corroded or eroded metal pipes, tanks and other equipment. It only weighs 12 ounces. (340 g) and is ergonomically designed for easy one-handed operation. Despite its compact size, the 27MG has many innovative measuring features that take advantage of the same technology available in our more advanced thickness gauges. The durable, rugged 27MG is battery operated and features a large, backlit LCD with easy-to-read numbers, and an intuitive, color-coded keyboard with direct access to many key features. |
|
Standard features include Automatic Probe Recognition to ensure optimum transducer performance, Auto Zero Compensation to improve measurement accuracy on hot surfaces, Gain Adjustment to improve measurements in sound absorbing materials such as cast metal, Differential Mode, Hi-Low Alarm setting and Min./ max. a mode that captures the minimum or maximum thickness at 20 measurements per second.
The 27MG is designed for inspectors and maintenance engineers who need to monitor wall thickness on metal pipes, tanks, beams, and structural supports that are prone to corrosion on internal surfaces. Ultrasonic thickness gauges provide a quick and cost-effective solution by transmitting sound to the material from outside, eliminating the need to damage the part.
transducerThe 27MG comes standard with a low cost D7910 dual element transducer that allows you to take thickness measurements for many basic corrosion applications. For measurements of very thin or thick materials, or small diameter pipes, Olympus has provided a complete range of dual element transducers. The 27MG compatible Olympus transducers feature Automatic Probe Recognition which optimizes transducer performance by automatically remembering the default V-path correction. |
