The Fluke P3015-XXX-P Gas Deadweight Tester can be used to calibrate pressure sensing instruments, such as transducers, transmitters, gauges and pressure switches. Like its sister product, the Fluke P3015-XXX Gas Deadweight Tester – Without Pump, an external gas source may be attached to its /NPT female external supply in order to generate pressure. However, unlike its sister product, the inclusion of an integrated hand pump means that this instrument can create up to 300psi (20 bar) of pressure without an external pneumatic source. Furthermore, the addition of a high-quality needle allows the user to make fine pressure adjustments.

As pressure is created the piston and cylinder assembly with floatation indicator is pushed upwards. In order to counterbalance this upward force, accurately calibrated weight masses are added to the piston. Each of these weight masses is constructed from series 3 non-magnetic, austenitic, stainless steel and is inscribed with the instrument’s serial number and the nominal pressure value relative to the high- or low-pressure piston. In order to determine the overall pressure, the user simply calculates the sum of the nominal pressures marked on the weight masses that have been added to the piston. For further information regarding this method, please see the video below.

Weight masses can be stored in a weight box with a secure locking system, ensuring that they can be transported safely and securely between worksites. Also adding to the Fluke P3015-XXX-P Gas Deadweight Tester’s ease of transportation is its removable lid.

This tester has been optimised for use in a variety of environments and to this end features a test station design with a mounted spirit level and adjustable feet. Its O-rings, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 NPT and BSP adapters, and M20 and M14 metric adapters remove the need for PTFE tape or wrenches when connecting additional instruments. These features ensure that the Fluke P3015-XXX-P Gas Deadweight Tester can be easily set up and accurately used in a variety of environments.

Accuracy is at the forefront of this product’s design. It is supplied with an ISO 17025 accredited calibration certificate. In addition to this, the piston and cylinder assembly features certified accuracies traceable to international standard laboratories, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), this is because it has been manufactured to the highest standards. The piston and cylinder assembly is designed to limit the effects of distortion and thermal coefficients whilst maintain stability and durability.

The Fluke P3015-XX-P Tester has a standard accuracy of 0.015% which may be improved to 0.08%. Furthermore, the Fluke P3015-XXX-P Gas Deadweight Tester is calibrated to standard gravity (980.665cm/s²); however, this instrument can be calibrated to the user’s local gravity, thereby improving the accuracy of the calibrator by accounting for the effect of this force on the weight masses.

The Fluke P3015-XXX-P Gas Deadweight Tester – With Pump is an accurate, versatile, easy-to-use calibrator, ideal for checking a variety of pressure sensing instruments.
